Quantity words คืออะไร

“Quantity words” คือคำบอกปริมาณนั่นเอง เราจะไปดูวิธีการใช้ให้ถูกหลักไวยากรณ์กันจากตัวอย่างที่ครูนำมาฝากในวันนี้นะคะ

การใช้ much, many, a lot of, lots of

ทั้ง “much, many, a lot of, lots of” นี้ ทุกคำล้วนมีความหมายเหมือนกันว่าจำนวนมาก หรือ มีปริมาณมาก แต่ทั้ง 4 คำนี้ มีวิธีการใช้ที่ไม่เหมือนกันค่ะ เพื่อให้เข้าใจกันง่ายๆ เราสามารถแบ่งการใช้ออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม ดังนี้นะคะนักเรียน

M****uch VS Many:

การใช้ much VS many มักจะใช้ในประโยคที่มีความหมายในเชิงลบหรือประโยคปฏิเสธ หรือในประโยคคำถามก็ได้

เริ่มกับ “M****uch”

much จะแปลว่า ปริมาณมาก แต่มีหลักการใช้คือ จะใช้คู่กับคำนามนับไม่ได้ (uncountable noun) เสมอ

โครงสร้าง: much + uncountable noun

How much water is left? เหลือน้ำเยอะมากไหม

การใช้ “Many”

many แปลว่า จำนวนมาก แต่จะใช้คู่กับนามนับได้ที่เป็นพหูพจน์ (plural countable nouns) เสมอ

• เทคนิค**:how + much/many ส่วนใหญ่แล้วเราจะเจอ การใช้ how much และ how many ขึ้นต้นประโยคคำถาม แต่เมื่อใช้ในประโยคบอกเล่า จะเรียกประโยคเหล่านี้ว่าเป็นส่วนขยายเพื่อบอกว่า …มากเท่าไร/เพียงใดเพื่อบอกจำนวน**

Kim wants to tell his girlfriend how much he misses her. คิมต้องการบอกแฟนสาวว่าเขาคิดถึงเธอมากแค่ไหน

Mint wants people to know how many places she has traveled to. มิ้นต์อยากให้คนอื่นรู้ว่าเธอไปเที่ยวมาแล้วหลายที่

• การใช้ too + much/many:

There are too many brand new clothes in my closet. มีเสื้อผ้าใหม่มากเกินไปในตู้เสื้อผ้าของฉัน

**The secretary has too much work to finish today. **วันนี้เลขามีงานมากเกินกว่าจะทำเสร็จ

**I have too much feeling for you. **ฉันรู้สึกกับคุณมากเกินไป

**There were too many people with Covid1-9. **คนติดโควิด 1-9 เยอะมากเกินไป
