การใช้ Tag Questions หรือ Question Tag ในการถาม – ตอบ เกี่ยวกับประเทศและสัญชาติ

สวัสดีค่ะนักเรียนชั้นป*. 6 ที่น่ารักทุกคนวันนี้เราจะไปเรียนรู้ในหัวข้อเรื่อง การใช้ Tag Questions หรือ Question Tag ในการถาม –* ตอบ เกี่ยวกับประเทศและสัญชาติ ถ้า**พร้อมแล้วก็ไปลุยกันเลย

ความหมาย

Question แปลว่า คำถาม ส่วนคำว่า Tag จะแปลว่า วลี ที่นำมาใช้ต่อท้ายประโยค เพื่อทำให้เป็นประโยค***คำถาม*** ดังนั้น ถ้าแปลตามคำนิยามแล้ว Question Tag ก็คือ วลีคำถาม นั่นเองค่ะ แต่มักจะเรียกทับศัพท์ ไปเลยว่า Question Tag (เคว็สเชิน แท็ก) เพื่อให้เกิดความชัดเจนมากขึ้น ตามโครงสร้างประโยคด้านล่างเลยนะคะนักเรียนที่รัก

โครงสร้างประโยค Question Tag

โดยหลักๆแล้วมี 3 เทคนิค ดังนี้

• หากว่าประโยคหลักเป็นประโยคบอกเล่า ตรงส่วนของ Question Tag จะเป็นคำถามเชิงปฏิเสธ ซึ่งจะมี Not เพิ่มเข้ามา
• หากว่าประโยคหลักเป็นปฏิเสธ ตรงส่วนของ Question Tag จะเป็นคำถามเชิงบอกเล่า (ไม่มี Not)
• หากว่าประธานของประโยคหลักเป็นคำนาม เช่น คน สัตว์ สิ่งของ ในส่วนของ Question Tag จะเปลี่ยนเป็นสรรพนามที่แทนประธานโดยทันที เช่น he, she, it

Tour guide: You are from the USA, aren’t you? ***= คุณมาจากประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ใช่มั้ยครับ

Danny: Yes, I’m from the USA. = ใช่ครับ ผมมาจากประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา

Danny: You are American, aren’t you? = อ้าว แล้วคุณไม่ใช้คนอเมริกันเหรอ

Tour guide: I’m originally from India. By the way, welcome to the museum. = โดยกำเนิดเป็นคนอินเดียครับ ยังไงก็ตาม ยินดีต้อนรับเข้าสู่พิพิธภัณฑ์นะครับ

ตัวอย่างประโยคที่เจอบ่อยๆ

• ถ้าประโยคหลักมี “กริยาช่วย” ประโยค Question Tag ต้องใช้กริยาช่วยตัวนั้น

Tina can speak Chinese, can’t she? = ตีน่าพูดจีนได้ ใช่ไหม

Elvis could sing a Thai song, couldn’t he? = เอลวิสร้องเพลงไทยได้ ใช่มั้ยนะ

***Jenny shouldn’t see him, should she? ***= เจนนี่ไม่ควรพบเขา ใช่ไหม

Dominique will go to the concert in Spain tomorrow, won’t he? = โดมินิคจะไปคอนเสิร์ตที่สเปนในวันพรุ่งนี้ ไม่ใช่เหรอ

You haven’t done your homework, have you? = คุณทำการบ้านยังไม่เสร็จ ใช่ไหม

เพิ่มเติม:

ถ้า have กับ has เป็นกริยาแท้ของประโยค ที่แปลว่า มี, กิน, ดื่ม Question tag จะใช้ do, does

ตัวอย่างหลักการใช้ Question Tag กับ Verb to be

ข้อควรจำคือ เมื่อเจอ กริยาทั้งหมด ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Verb to be (is, am, are, was, were), กริยาแท้ แม้แต่ กริยาช่วย ในประโยคในส่วนของ Question tag ก็ต้องเป็น Verb to be ดังตัวอย่างด้านล่างนี้นะคะนักเรียน

I’m British, aren’t I? แปลว่า ฉันเป็นคนบริติช ใช่มั้ยนะ

I’m not supposed to be in the UK, am I? แปลว่า ฉันไม่ควรอยู่ที่ประเทศอังกฤษเลย ว่ามั้ย

You’re a teacher in Germany, aren’t you? แปลว่า คุณเป็นครูที่ประเทศเยอรมัน ใช่มั้ยคะ/ครับ

The Japanese friends were not at school yesterday, were they? แปลว่า เมื่อวานเพื่อนชาวญี่ปุ่นไม่ได้อยู่ที่โรงเรียน ใช่ไหม

ปล.

* ในบางครั้งอาจะใช้ am I not?, aren’t I?, amn’t I?, และ ain’t I? ขึ้นอยู่กับบริบทที่ใช้

หลักการทั่วไปอื่นๆ นักเรียนสามารถดูได้จากด้านล่างนะคะ

• ถ้าประโยคหลักเป็น “ประโยคคำสั่ง หรือ ขอร้อง” ในส่วนของประโยค Question Tag ต้องใช้ will you กับ won’t you

***Wash dishes for me, will you? ***แปลว่า ล้างถ้วยให้ฉันหน่อย ได้ไหม

ประโยคนี้มาจาก Will you wash dishes for me?

Let her go to England by herself, will you? แปลว่า ปล่อยเธอไปประเทศอังกฤษด้วยตัวเอง จะทำได้ไหม

มาจาก Will you let her go to England by herself?

• ถ้าประโยคหลักเป็น Present Simple Tense ประโยค Question Tag ต้องใช้ do, don’t/ does, doesn’t

We have two brothers in Vietnam, don’t we? = พวกเรามีพี่ชายสองคนที่เวียดนาม ไม่ใช่เหรอ

You don’t like living in the USA, do you? = คุณไม่ชอบอาศัยอยู่ที่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ใช่มั้ย

• ถ้าประโยคหลักเป็น Past Simple Tense ประโยค Question Tag ต้องใช้ did/ didn’t

We had two Australian friends, didn’t we? = พวกเราเคยมีเพื่อนชาวออสเตรเลียสองคน ใช่มั้ย

She had dinner at the Spanish restaurant, didn’t she? = เธอไปทานข้าวเย็นที่ร้านอาหารสเปน ใช่มั้ยนะ

• หากว่าประโยคหลักมี Let’s (Let us) ในส่วนของประโยค Question Tag จะใช้ shall we

Let’s fly to the Philippines next week , shall we? แปลว่า พวกเราบินไปประเทศฟิลิปปินส์สัปดาห์หน้ากันเถอะ ป้ะ

จะแปลเหมือนกับ Shall we fly to the Philippines next week?

Let’s watch the Singaporean TV show, shall we? แปลว่า พวกเราดูทีวีโชว์ช่องสิงคโปร์กันเถอะ ดีมั้ย

จะแปลเหมือนกับ Shall we watch the Singaporean TV show?

ประโยคบอกเล่าที่ใช้กับ “There”

Structure: โครงสร้างด้านล่าง

There + is, are, was, were จะมีความหมายว่า มี ในส่วนของประโยค Question Tag จะต้องใช้ is, are, was, were + there?

There is a Mona Lisa painting in Paris, isn’t there?* แปล มีรูปโมนาลิซ่าอยู่ที่ปารีส ใช่มั้ย*

There aren’t many tourists in Thailand during Covide-19, are there?

= ในช่วงโควิด19 มีนักท่องเที่ยวไม่ค่อยพลุกพล่าน ใช่มั้ย
